Kaye is arguably one of Singapore’s most versatile musicians. Although primarily a saxophonist, his live performance arsenal has grown over the decades to include wind and analog synths, vocoders, drum machines and DJ-ing.
His sound ranges from House and Techno, to Afro/Cuban/Latin/World beats, Funk and Disco Boogie, rooted in the timeless pillars of Jazz and Soul. This diversity has led him to being called in as a sessionist for live club acts such as KiNK, DJ Vadim & the Russian Percussion (with Mr Thing and Yarah Bravo) and Reel People Sessions, and his lightning quick improvisational reflexes have enabled him to jam alongside many other producers and DJs who were open enough to let him, during their sets without any prior rehearsals – Kenny Dope, Kerri Chandler, Gerd Janson, Bradley Zero, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Basic Soul Unit, Linkwood, San Soda, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Russ Dewbury and Dam Funk are but a small selection of worthy mentions.
Also an electronic music producer, his original material and remix work has been released on labels like Universal, WahWah45s (UK), Darker Than Wax (SG), Heard and Felt (Melbourne), Dejavu (Italy) and Ensemble (Belgium). His experience in the underground has not gone unnoticed in slightly more mainstream
mediums, and this has led him to being booked by high end fashion houses for their parties – from Louis Vuitton to Gucci, Chanel to Christian Dior and beyond – and iconic international events such as Beijing Olympics (2008), World Expo (2010), Singapore Grand Prix, Zoukout, and the Volvo Ocean Race.
